With more than 35 years of experience in the floristry industry, opening Virginia Carmen Designs on 2nd November 2019 was the natural next step in my career. What began as a dream business has grown into a thriving florist and event styling studio, dedicated to beautiful flowers, unique gifts, and exceptional customer service.
After launching into a busy Christmas season, followed by Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, we were overwhelmed by the support from our customers. Soon after, the pandemic brought unexpected challenges, but through determination and hard work, the business continued to grow and evolve.
Today, Virginia Carmen Designs is a talented team of four, combining creativity, experience, and passion to provide high-quality flowers, bespoke floral designs, handmade terrariums, and distinctive gifts throughout Bolton, the North West, and beyond.
We create floral arrangements for every occasion, from birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations to weddings, themed events, and funeral tributes. Our bespoke commissions have included everything from Jurassic Park-themed weddings to Ferrari-inspired funeral tributes, proving that no idea is too imaginative for our team.
As an approved Direct2florist florist, we are committed to delivering quality, creativity, and personal service. We work closely with local families, businesses, and organisations, including the Royal Society of St George, Bolton Mayor's Office, and Coop Funeral Service, providing flowers for several local funeral parlours and specialising in unique floral tributes. One of our recent creations was a stunning 3D owl tribute.
Event styling is another of our passions. We have planned and delivered hundreds of events, working with organisations such as Eventura to transform venues large and small. From sourcing unusual props and designing layouts to full venue styling and floral installations, we bring creative visions to life. Themes have included The Greatest Showman, Las Vegas, A Christmas Carol, Fairy Tale in New York, Santa's Little Grotto, and many more.
We have also partnered with venues including Old Links Golf Club, Bolton Golf Club, and Ridgemont House Hotel, and were honoured to design and supply flowers for Queen Consort Camilla during her visit to Bolton.
Our shop at 132 Manchester Road, Kearsley reflects our creative approach, inspired by Mediterranean and Bali influences, featuring warm lighting, striking displays, and carefully sourced products that offer something truly different. Alongside our flowers, we're known for our collection of hand-carved solid wood animals, with our popular Bear and Rabbit favourites delighting visitors.
